Also, try and grow your family if you can. Your defence is collective and based on the defence of your whole family. Invest any skill points you have in energy. Ideally to survive the Mafia Wars Hit List you will need:

* 501 family members. You can grow your mafia on one of the many forums available.

* 501 private jets, 501 camouflage body armors and 501 cane knives.

* At least 300 defence skill. Seems a lot but this is a long term strategy. If you would rather invest in energy then try and stay out of fights all together.

* At least 300 health. Again this is part of a long term strategy as above.

All of this will allow you to ride the Hit List for a long period of time and will also mean that you gain lots of experience points because every fight you win you will gain experience. Some top bosses even prefer this strategy for gaining experience more than any other. Another tip is to never Hit List someone yourself that is stronger than you.
